Slipstream Harbour

The first semester of the 1998 school year began this week. I'm a little surprised at how well classes have gone so far considering all of my trepidation at having to teach in Japanese this year and to teach something I've never really taught at the Universty level before, that is, computers. I mean, I know that I've been helping others with their computers for years since after I've come to Japan, but still I was rather nervous at the prospect of having to actually do it professionally.

I was driving the other day and suddenly LedZep's "Stairway To Heaven" came on. It had been years since I'd heard this song, and I smiled and got ready to settle in for a bath of nostalgia. Surprisingly, tho' the song was nowhere hear as long as I remember. Oh they played the whole song and everything, but it just felt a lot shorter. It was like that feeling you have when you go back to a place that you haven't visited since you were a little kid, and suddenly everything that you remember to be so big before, now appears to be so small.
